Buhari needed strong Vice President incase he dies – Bakare
Former running mate and founder of the Latter Rain Assembly, Pastor Tunde Bakare has disclosed that while standing as running mate to President Buhari in the then Congress for Progressive Change ,CPC Political Party, he was duly informed by the President that his preference for him as running mate was informed based on the fact that he wanted a strong personality to succeed him should he pass on while in office.
Stating that PMB confided that he wanted a strong personality who can hold the country together should he suffer any unfortunate death while in office, citing that his younger then, President Yar' Adua had died while in office.
Pastor Bakare said this while delivering a message to his congregation at the church headquarters in Ogba, Lagos State. Announcing that he had the full account in his book titled, 'Strategic Intervention in Governance' , adding that he had pointed out his fears to PMB on how previous running mates of his including, Umeh-ezeoke, Okadigbo and Idiagbon had died suddenly.
His remarks are coming in the wake of nationwide fears surrounding the state of health of President Buhari.
